Formed part solution for transport in beverage bottling

The development objective of a major manufacturer of beverage bottling lines was a productivity increase in its facilities by increasing throughput while simultaneously reducing machine downtime. A major bottleneck in this case proved to be the transport of the bottles through the inspection unit. Sahlberg developed an innovative solution for this operation together with the customer: a very accurately milled toothed belt with a polyurethane film allowing the bottles to be supplied, turned and positioned at a particularly high transport speed (up to 50,000 bottles per hour), and all because of a very constant contact pressure without destroying the bottles. The advantages of this product solution that Sahlberg now delivers in series also lie in a much longer tool life, which is beneficial with respect to machine downtime.
