Semi-finished Processing of Plastic & Rubber![]() SAHLBERG Polymer Center - Concentrated know-how and numerous capabilities
We support you in the design and manufacture of parts made of polymers from our SAHLBERG Polymer Center (S.P.C.). The S.P.C. in southern Germany offers one of the most sophisticated ranges of semi-finished polymer products under one roof. It also enables the processing of these and the production of finished parts from various materials. As we serve a very broad customer base, including companies from electrical engineering, equipment construction, exhibition stand construction, automotive supply, machining and medical technology as well as machine and plant construction sectors, we permanently stock a wide range. This ranges from standard plastics and transparent materials through all types of engineering plastics to high-performance plastics, thermosetting plastics and polyurethane materials as well as elastomers and foamed materials. In numbers, the S.P.C. is constantly home to over 1000 articles and has a storage capacity of some 500 metric tons over an area of 4,000 m².The materials may be processed in different ways using state-of-the-art machinery. At S.P.C., we offer you the following manufacturing processes: coating, drilling, turning, milling, molding, laminating, bonding, plotting, sawing, grinding, cutting and punching. In addition, it is also possible to manufacture assemblies. Consulting - benefit from experience and expertise
Our engineers and application technicians who work in the fields of plastics and rubber technology are among the key players in the constantly changing field of materials. Take advantage of this know-how prior to production in the selection of a suitable material or the development of optimum manufacturing processes by taking into account technical and economic requirements. Our staff will also assist you in the optimization of the application as well as in the drawing and engineering. Customer benefits: - Benefit from our employees’ in-depth know-how - We choose the right materials to fit your needs - Manufacturing risks are excluded Plastic cutting, stamped parts and gaskets to measure and in series
On modern CNC-controlled plant in the S.P.C., sheets, rods, bars and profiles are produced exactly to customer requirements with the correct geometry and strength enabling them to be directly machined or mounted. Our machinery allows rational production of single pieces or series production in-house, quickly and flexibly. In addition to cutting, we also carry out further processing steps such as milling, drilling, turning, grinding, planing, bonding and stamping. Stamped parts may be generated directly from a CAD file. Customer benefits: - Avoidance of simple but time-intensive steps with low added value - Elimination of material waste and tooling costs for specialist machines - Elimination of storage and waste disposal - Reduced process costs - High availability of materials and therefore fast and flexible processing - Rapid manufacturing of spare parts Expertise in the production of finished parts
On request, we can take care of additional manufacturing steps for you and deliver finished parts made of polymeric materials. Due to our wide range of stocked materials and our own manufacturing capabilities, we can produce samples or prototypes quickly and speed up the development process. In addition, we manufacture series parts made of plastics and elastomers - machined, vulcanized, bonded or otherwise processed. Another step is the assembly of complete assemblies. We procure all the parts making up a component directly from specialized companies or directly from the customer. Customer benefits: - Expert advice and support in the construction of prefabricated units - Preparation of cost-efficient samples and prototypes early in the development process - Professional assembly of complete assemblies - Reduced process costs Quality Assurance
The manufactured products are tested in our own laboratory to ensure they meet the customer's own specifications and requirements. The tests include: standard size checks, optical 3D measurement, density and weight measurements, hardness measurements (Shore A and D as well as micro IRHD), tensile and compressive testing up to 10 kN, peeling and adhesive strength testing from 0.5 N, measuring the compression set and aging test. Customer benefits: - You receive high quality products with quality control
